2026-2027 UBiG Scholarship Fund
The UBiG Scholarship Fund is dedicated to supporting the educational and professional growth of our community members. This year, we are honored to offer scholarships to individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their education and career aspirations.
Who Can Apply?
These scholarships are open to UBiG members, family, friends, and eligible dependents of Barbadians who are ready to pursue their educational goals. If you or an eligible family member are interested in higher education, we encourage you to apply.
Scholarship Categories
Mia Mottley Leadership Award
Undergraduate & Graduate Scholarship
Leadership, Education
& Professional Development Scholarship
For individuals pursuing education, professional training, certification, or another recognized development opportunity
that will prepare them for leadership and advancement in their chosen field.
CRITERIA:
Demonstrated leadership potential, commitment to personal and professional growth, community involvement,
and clearly defined future goals.
(Min. 500 words)
Rihanna Fenty Arts & Culture Award
Creative Arts, Culture & Entertainment Scholarship
For individuals pursuing education, training, certification, or professional development in the performing arts, visual arts, music, dance, fashion, design, media, cultural arts, entertainment, or another creative field.
CRITERIA:
Demonstrated passion and talent, commitment to developing their craft, financial need, and community or
cultural involvement.
(Min. 500 words)
Sandra Mason Award for Excellence
Adult Learner & Career Advancement Scholarship
For adult learners seeking to continue their education, develop new professional skills, earn a certification or credential,
transition into a new career, or pursue another recognized pathway toward personal and professional advancement.
CRITERIA:
Commitment to personal growth, clearly defined educational or career goals, perseverance, and community involvement.
(Min. 500 words)
Barbados Aviation & Aeronautical Excellence Award
Aviation, Aeronautics & Airport Careers Scholarship
For individuals pursuing education, specialized training, certification, or career preparation in aviation, aeronautics, aerospace, airport operations, aviation management, aircraft maintenance, air traffic operations, logistics, ground operations, or another aviation- or airport-related career field. Applicants may be pursuing their pathway through a college or university, technical or vocational institution, aviation academy, certification program, apprenticeship, or other recognized training program.
CRITERIA:
Demonstrated interest in an aviation or airport-related career, commitment to completing the required education
or training, clearly defined career goals, and financial need.
(Min. 500 words)
